Ever since its inception, K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research has been on the path of success with its quality management education, training and research. The institute was ranked 9th among top 50 business schools of 2011 in India. It was set up in the year 1981 as a joint endeavor of K. J. Somaiya Trust and Somaiya Vidyavihar. The college was awarded as the “Best Management Institute” of the year 2008 in Mumbai. It has also been awarded with an ISO 9001:2000 certificate.
Somaiya Admissions Eligibility Criteria:
Student pursuing or having completed a minimum of three year graduate programme in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks from any University, recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/AICTE, as eligible for Post Graduate Studies in Management. Those students who are appearing for their final examination in April – May 2013 can also apply. However, they should produce documentary evidence of having passed the graduation examination with minimum aggregate marks as specified above, on or before 31st July 2013, failing which the students will forfeit their admission. The student must have completed the graduation examination process before joining the Institute. No leave of absence will be granted after the date of joining for any such examinations.

Shortlisted candidates based on their scores of CAT /CMAT any other criteria will be called for second round of selection process at Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad (tentative), Kolkata, and Mumbai.

KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Scholarships
This scholarship is provided to meritorious Indian Students of the MBA Programme and International students of PGDM as well as Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin & Non-Resident Indian Students in the PGDM. The scholarship provides the boarding and food expenses for two years during the period of study at KJ Somaiya Institute of Management.
Subject-Based Scholarship: The scholarship is provided to the students of Humanity or liberal arts and who score first class during the first year.
Need-Based Scholarship: There are three kinds of scholarship under the need-based category – SmtSakarbai K Somaiya scholarship, Smt Maya Devi Somaiya, and DhirenSavla scholarship. DhirenSavla scholarship is only provided for girl students. The student must take admission under the merit list to qualify for the scholarship and hold Indian nationality.
Merit-Based Scholarship: This scholarship is open to all students of KJ Somaiya institute who have taken admission under the merit list and maintained good grades during their study year but this scholarship will consider academic performance and students’ financial needs at the same time.
Special Interest Scholarships: KJ Somaiya Institute of Management provides a variety of scholarship options to help the merit cum need-based students to support different student backgrounds and their different sets of interests.
